User Experience (UX) Designer
Innovative Systems, Inc. is looking for an entry-level User Experience Designer to work at our world headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for all phases of the design process - from initial research to high-fidelity prototypes for existing product redesigns and new product offerings.
Our ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the user-centered design process. They should be well-versed in design research methodologies and tools, with the ability to advocate for users by viewing the product from their perspective and adapting designs accordingly. The right candidate will be personable, collaborative, and confident in engaging with both users and stakeholders. They will be open to feedback, receptive to constructive criticism, and passionate about delivering elegant, user-focused solutions.
Location: Based at our World Headquarters located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Currently the team is working a flexible hybrid schedule, working in the office 2-3days a week.
What you will be doing…
As a UX Designer at Innovative, you will play a key role in shaping our products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct and analyze user research to uncover needs, pain points, and behaviors.
- Translate insights into sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, and other deliverables that enable intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design concepts.
- Support the design team with UX decisions for both existing features and new initiatives.
- Assist in usability testing plans for internal and external users alongside senior designers.
- Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on designs with feedback from stakeholders and users.
- Partner with colleagues and stakeholders across global teams.
- Participate in design critiques and offering constructive input for continuous improvement.
- Champion user-centered thinking and sharing new ideas with design, development, and product teams.
Qualifications you must have…
- 1–3 years of professional experience designing and delivering software.
- A portfolio that demonstrates proficiency across the full design process.
- Proven ability to translate requirements into user experiences that align with client needs and vision.
- Strong grasp of Design Thinking and user-centered design principles.
- Ability to rapidly iterate on designs and solutions.
- Experience translating complex concepts into clear, user-friendly designs.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate design processes, ideas, and solutions.
- Proficiency in UX tools such as Miro and Figma.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% of the time to client sites throughout the UK, the United States, and other locations.
It’s a plus if you have…
- Experience with enterprise-level technology.
- Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering or Sanction Screening software.
- Awareness of accessibility guidelines.
- Experience working within Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
